Job Description:
*Join our team* Reporting to the Director of Channel Training Events, the Senior Events Marketing Manager for Channel Events will lead the strategic development and execution of the Channel Events portfolio. *Here’s the impact you’ll make and what we’ll accomplish together* The Senior Events Marketing Manager provides event management and project execution support on a variety of initiatives including: Incentive trips, Front-line forums and Executive conferences. The successful candidate will manage the executive governance of Channel events and lead the strategy, design, execution, and measurement of complex, large scale events. *Here’s how* * *Develop strategic event roadmap by leading executive governance for all Channel Events:* o Develop an executive governance model for the Channel Events portfolio o Lead and influence strategic planning for annual event roadmap o Provide insights to executives on return of investments (ROI) of executed events o Manage Channel Events budget and report on fiscal status o Develop strong relationships with all stakeholders to influence and drive correct event plans and execution * *Provide project planning and execution support on assigned events and initiatives:* o Create a project plan for assigned events including tasks, timelines and key deliverables, and effectively managing the plan through to completion o Identify risks and provide solutions to ensure all deliverables are met o Create and obtain approval on budgets for assigned events o Review and negotiate venue contracts to ensure event requirements are met * *Lead and manage the operational capabilities of the Channel Events portfolio:* o Create and maintain event processes and procedures including event documentation, standard templates, work back schedules, project plans, and function sheets, de-brief documents, and post-event evaluations and final reports o Develop a list of preferred vendors that is reviewed and updated annually o Focus on innovation and efficiencies to elevate Channel events and manage costs appropriately * *Lead and manage end-to-end events:* o Conduct needs assessment with stakeholders to determine event requirements o Develop scoping documents outlining objectives, themes, scope, risks, budget, and critical success metrics o Project manage all elements of the event lifecycle including assessment, planning, execution, and wrap up o Manage external vendor, supplier, and agency relationships *You’re the missing piece of the puzzle* * Expert knowledge of event management industry best practices * Expertise in budget management * Knowledge of corporate and cross-functional governance * Availability to travel up to 50% of your time * Ability to oversee and execute large complex initiatives, programs, and events within budget * Ability to build relationships that can be used to influence and guide the decision making process * Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail * Strong customer service ethic and high expectations for quality * Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate several projects simultaneously * Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal partners and external vendors * Ability to proactively anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision * Excellent project management skills to be able to develop work back schedules and project plans * Excellent written skills and the ability to create professional business documents and printed materials * Expertise in all facets of site selection including researching venues, negotiating with vendors, and monitoring contracts * University degree or community college diploma, credited organization, in event management and/or communications * Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) Certification designation * Minimum 10 years of experience in event management and/or communication with experience in developing large and complex events, conferences and meetings in a corporate environment *Great-to-haves* * Knowledge of telecommunications and mobility products * Ability to speak and write in French and/or Spanish * Experience working in the telecommunications industry *Who is TELUS?* We´re a high-performing team of individuals who collectively make TELUS one of the leading telecommunications companies in Canada.
